I hail from Pretoria, and went to public high school there, so I’m fluent in Afrikaans as well as English, which means my clients can all feel comfortable with me.

I always wanted to be a hairdresser and during my high school years, I worked part time in a salon. The last day of high school was the first day of my apprenticeship. Once I had completed it, my Mum gave me the opportunity to go to Vidal Sassoon in Bond Street, London, to get my international qualifications, which was a fabulous experience.

My first job on arriving back in SA was managing a salon for a chain, which turned into a cluster of salons, until my itchy feet led me to set up my own place- the tiniest salon ever, in the security room of a building. One year on, the space was fille, and I had to seek larger premises. I built the business for 5 more years, and then an opportunity arose to come to beautiful Cape Town.

I started at the Waterfront with the fabulous Tony Martin, learning how to do huge shows, and having gorgeous photographic models among the daily clients. However, being an Aries, I needed to work for myself, and so started my solo career here, progressing from another tiny salon to 2 years at the action cricket arena. After once more filling up my space and client list, I had to move again and …..HELLO TABLEVIEW! The rest is history.
