Leaving my award-winning stylist in Spain was almost as big a wrench as deciding to move to SA in the first place, so I had my hair cut and coloured the day before I left, and prayed I would find a suitable replacement before it grew unruly. Short hair can be risky with a new stylist, but Natalie was spot on every time with the cut, and then my highlights, while my partner was being professionally reiki’d by Hannelie, the most amazing “Body Technician”, in another room. Whatever your ache or pain, your injury or illness, Hannelie knows how to make it better. Then nails, make-up and waxing – Hairven does it all, and does it brilliantly, and at a price that won’t have you wincing in pain. Hairven is a community more than just a salon- clients are friends, people network in the salon; they organise wine-tastings, a pop-up jewellery stand; there’s a big book swap shelf, they sell organic vegetables, and the best free- range eggs ever……I could go on, but I won’t.
